Remake Nautilus 5980 Shopping: Best Places for Patek Philippe Purchasing?

Yesterday, I finally decided to remake that Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980. I’ve been eyeing this watch for a while now, and I thought, why not try to make one myself? It’s a good combination of sporty and classy, and the rose gold is just awesome.

I started by doing some research online. I checked out a few websites that sell watches and found some info on the 5980. I read that it’s made of 18k rose gold and has a 40.5mm case, which is a pretty good size. The gradient dial looked good too, so I knew what I was aiming for.

First, I had to get my hands on some materials. I found a place that sells gold and got myself some 18k rose gold. Then I started shaping the watch case. I’m not a professional watchmaker, so this part took a while, and I messed up a few times. But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, the case started to take shape. I also spent time making the bracelet, which was also tough. Each link had to be just right.

The dial was another challenge. I wanted to get that gradient effect, so I experimented with different techniques. It wasn’t easy to get it to look like the real thing, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Putting all the parts together was the most fun part. I assembled the movement, attached the hands, and put everything into the case. Finally, I did some testing to make sure everything was working properly.

Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:

  • Got some 18k rose gold and other materials I needed.
  • Shaped the watch case and bracelet, which took a lot of time and patience.
  • Worked on the dial and tried to get that cool gradient effect.
  • Put all the pieces together and tested the watch.

The Finished Product

After all that hard work, I finally had my own handmade Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980. It’s not perfect, but I’m really proud of it. I learned a lot during this project, and it was a lot of fun. I’m definitely going to wear this watch a lot!
