Alright, let’s talk about this watch I’ve been messing around with – the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the Sapphire Classic Style. You know, the one they call the “Moonwatch.” Sounds kinda cheesy, but hey, it’s got history.
So, first off, I got my hands on this thing. I decided to get this watch from a guy, the original box. Unboxing it was pretty standard, nothing too fancy. It had this neat little booklet and a warranty card, the usual stuff you’d expect.
This thing is supposed to be just like the real deal, you know, the one that actually went to the moon in ’69 with those Apollo 11 guys. This one’s got that sapphire crystal. Some folks like the hesalite glass, but I prefer the sapphire – seems tougher to me, and I can see the movement with that transparent back.
Wearing it around, it feels solid. It’s not too big, not too small. The size is just right, I guess. It’s got those “twisted” lugs everyone talks about and the case has these different-looking sides, which is kind of cool. I wore it to work, wore it out to dinner, even wore it while working in the yard. It’s pretty versatile.
- Setting the time: Pulling out the crown and setting the time was smooth. No issues there.
- Winding it up: This is one of those manual wind watches. So, I gave it a good wind, felt pretty satisfying, not gonna lie.
- Checking out the movement: Flipped it over, and yeah, you can see all the gears and stuff moving around through the back. It’s pretty neat to watch, even if I don’t know exactly what everything does.
I compared it to some pictures of the real one online, and honestly, it’s hard to tell the difference. The writing on the tachymeter is that nice, bold white, just like the real one. And there’s that little Swatch copyright text near the 6 o’clock marker, which is also supposed to be there. That is what the websites say, never seen a real one though.
Now, I didn’t pay a fortune for this. Let’s just say it was “reasonable,” as they say. But it’s not super cheap either. You get what you pay for, I guess. I wanted something that looked and felt like the real Moonwatch without, you know, breaking the bank.
I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now. It keeps good time, and I haven’t had any problems. It’s comfortable on the wrist, and I like how it looks with pretty much anything I wear. If you are into this kind of watch, especially that you like history and stuff, this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster might be something you will be interested in. It is really a classic style with a little bit of modern thrown in.
Oh, and I almost forgot. This model has those red accents and the Speedmaster name in red. It’s a subtle touch, but it adds a little something extra to the whole look. This whole thing has been a fun little adventure, trying out this watch and learning about its history. This was my experience with this watch, hope it was helpful.
