Okay, so, a few weeks ago I got this wild hair to try and get my hands on a decent knock-off Rolex. I’ve always liked the look of the Submariner, especially the black one, but there’s no way I could ever afford the real deal. So, I figured, why not try a good fake?
I started digging around online, checking out all sorts of forums and websites. It was kind of a confusing mess, to be honest. So many different factories and sellers, all claiming to have the “best” one. But I finally settled on a guy who seemed to know what he was talking about.
I messaged him, asked a bunch of questions about the watch, and looked at all the pictures he sent. The thing that really got me was the weight. He told me this thing was heavy, just like the real ones. He said it is 1.57 inches wide, which is the same as the genuine one. I did not measure it but it looks like it. That sounded pretty good to me. He also showed me a close-up of the minute hand and told me it’s short and doesn’t overlap the minute markers, just like the authentic ones.
After going back and forth for a while, I finally decided to pull the trigger and ordered one. It took a couple of weeks to arrive, but when it finally showed up, I was pretty impressed. This thing looked and felt legit. It had a good weight to it, and all the little details seemed to be on point. Even the hands looked right, they were not overlapping the markers.
I’ve been wearing it around for a few days now, and I gotta say, I’m really happy with it. I showed it to a couple of my buddies who know a bit about watches, and they were fooled too. They kept saying how much they couldn’t believe it wasn’t real. I know it’s not the same as owning a real Rolex, but for the price, I think I got a pretty sweet deal. But I also know the experts can tell them apart so I did not go to the watch shop.
It is kind of fun to have people doing double-takes when they see it on my wrist. I’m not trying to pass it off as a real one, but it’s definitely a conversation starter. It is like people are saying in the forums, “how to spot a fake.” But this one I got is great and I don’t think people can tell.
