This watch, you see, it’s somethin’ else. They call it the OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, it kinda is. I seen a picture of it, all black and shiny. My grandson, he’s always on that internet thing, he told me all about it. Says it’s a copy, but a good one. You know, not the real deal, but close enough.
This OMEGA Thing, It’s a Big Deal
Now, these OMEGA watches, they’re not cheap. Not like the ones you get down at the market. This OMEGA Speedmaster, it’s for rich folks, movie stars, and such. This copy is gonna cost ya, but not as much as the real one, that is. They say the real ones, these OMEGA Speedmaster watches, can cost more than a new tractor! Can you believe that? For a watch!
This Apollo 8, it’s got somethin’ to do with the moon. My grandson, he showed me on his phone. Seems back in, oh, I don’t know, ’68 or somethin’, some fellas went up in a rocket. They went all the way around the moon! First ones to ever do it. This OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s ’cause of them. It’s black like the dark side of the moon, the side we don’t see. Makes sense, don’t it?

They had some big watch show, somethin’ called Baselworld, back in 2018. This OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 was there. A real big deal, they said. Everyone was talkin’ about it. Even the copy, folks are talkin’ about it. ‘Cause it looks just like the real one, ‘cept for the price.

Now, I ain’t never seen one of these copy OMEGA Speedmaster watches in person. But from the pictures, it’s a looker. All black and shiny. They say it’s made of ceramic. That’s what they make them fancy plates out of, ain’t it? Must be strong stuff if they make a watch out of it. This copy OMEGA, it uses that ceramic, too. Makes it tough, I reckon.
This here copy, it ain’t got no numbers on it. Just little lines. Makes it look all fancy and modern. You can see all the insides, all them little gears and wheels turnin’. They call it a “skeleton” somethin’. Looks kinda spooky, but kinda neat, too. This copy OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 has that, just like the real one. Pretty cool, huh?

OMEGA Speedmaster, Real or Copy, It’s a Story
My grandson, he says OMEGA makes a lot of these special watches. Too many, some folks say. But this Apollo 8 one, it’s different. It’s about that trip to the moon. It’s about bein’ brave and doin’ somethin’ no one’s ever done before. That’s somethin’ special, real or copy, this OMEGA Speedmaster.
Now, this copy, you are not gonna fool no one who knows about these things. It is just a copy. But this copy OMEGA Speedmaster, it still tells that story. You look at it, you think about them astronauts, way up there, lookin’ at the dark side of the moon. You think about how far we’ve come. That is worth somethin’, ain’t it?
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these copy OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” watches, I say go for it. It ain’t the real thing, but it’s a good copy. And it’s got a good story behind it. You can wear it, and you can think about them astronauts. Maybe you will even feel a little bit brave yourself. Just don’t try to sell it as the real one! That would not be right. And don’t be spendin’ your whole paycheck on it neither, ya hear?
