High imitation Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660 Specialty Stores: How to Choose?

So, I got this idea the other day to mess around with a Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660. I’ve always been into watches, and the Sea-Dweller is kind of a big deal, you know? It’s like, the watch for serious divers, supposedly able to handle crazy depths and all that. I’m not a diver myself, but I thought it would be cool to get my hands on a pretty good fake of one and see what it’s all about.

I found a place that sells these replicas, and I ordered one. I wasn’t expecting a perfect match, but something decent enough to fool most people from a distance. Plus, the price was a lot easier to swallow than the real deal. This one is supposed to be the 116660, which is a bit of an older model but still looks cool as hell. I heard that the new ones have some better movement thing inside, but honestly, I don’t even know what that means. They use some fancy words like “cal. 3235 Perpetual” and the case size is 43mm, but who cares about all of that? Mine is 44mm, and I heard it’s basically the same thing. Also, the real ones are like 42mm in diameter and 14mm thick, or some crazy numbers like that. I don’t even know how they measure those things. I mean, who carries a ruler for their watch?

When it arrived, I was pretty stoked. It looked good, man. It had that signature Rolex look, with the big case, and the black dial. I wore it around for a few days, and no one seemed to notice it was a fake. I even got a few compliments! I felt like a million bucks, even though I only spent a fraction of that.

  • First Impression: The watch looked great out of the box. It had a nice weight to it, and the details were pretty spot on. The bezel turned nicely, and the crown screwed down just like it should.
  • Wearing It Out: I wore the watch for a week straight, to work, to the bar, even to the grocery store. I wanted to see if anyone would call me out on it.
  • No One Noticed: Surprisingly, no one did. I even showed it to a few friends who know a little about watches, and they were impressed. They thought it was real!

At the end of the day, I’m not trying to fool anyone into thinking I’m some rich guy. I just wanted to see what it was like to wear a high-end watch, even if it was a fake. And you know what? It was fun. It felt good to have something nice on my wrist, and it was a cool conversation starter.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s not like I’m hurting anyone, right? I mean, it’s not like I’m trying to sell it as a real Rolex. I’m just enjoying the look and feel of a nice watch without breaking the bank. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to afford the real thing. But until then, I’m happy with my little experiment.
