This thing, this watch, it’s called what, high imitation Rolex? My grandson, he’s always talking about these fancy things. This one, it’s blue, and gold, kinda shiny. He says it is a two-tone blue Submariner. Original order, he kept saying. Sounds important, I guess.
This Rolex, it’s heavy. Not like those cheap things you get at the market. This one, you feel it on your wrist. Like you’re wearing something, you know? It has some number on it, 40, and some lines, like on a ruler. 1.57 inches, whatever that means. Big, but not too big. Fits just right, my grandson says.
Blue and Gold, Shiny
He said this watch, it costs a lot. More than a thousand, I heard. More than we paid for that old cow last year! Can you believe it? For a watch! But he says it’s a good one. This two-tone blue Submariner. He likes the blue, says it’s better than black. I don’t know, blue, black, they both tell time, right?
Some folks, they don’t like this kind, this two-color one. They say it’s not all one thing, not all the other. Not like a plain one, or a gold one. They say it don’t look right. I don’t know. Looks fine to me. Shiny and pretty.
Real or Not, Who Knows?
My grandson, he’s smart. He knows about these things. He says you gotta look close. See if it’s a real one. This high imitation Rolex, it’s hard to tell, he says. They make them good now. Like the real thing. But there are things, little things, that tell you. He didn’t say what, though. Secret, I guess.
- Heavy, like I said. Not light like a toy.
- Blue and gold, the two-tone blue Submariner.
- Costs a lot! More than a thousand, he said!
- Hard to tell if it’s real, even for him.
Some man came by, wanted to buy one. A Rolex, he said, blue and gold, just like this. Offered a lot of money. My grandson, he just laughed. Said this one’s special. Original order. Don’t know what that means, but it must be good. This two-tone blue Submariner is something else.
Soldiers and Watches
Heard some stories, about soldiers, and these watches. These Rolex Submariners. They wear them, he says. Even in wars, long ago. They save up, buy these watches. When they do something big, or go far away. A reminder, he says. Of what they did.
This one, this two-tone blue Submariner, it’s not all gold. Just some parts. The middle, and that little turny thing. The crown, he calls it. Weighs a bit, this watch. About 130, some number like that. Not all gold, but enough to make it shine.
I don’t know much about these fancy things. But my grandson, he likes this one. This high imitation Rolex, this two-tone blue Submariner. He says it’s special. And that’s good enough for me. It’s pretty, and it tells time. What more do you need? And he says it’s an original order, so it must be good, right?
Keeping it Safe
He keeps it in a box, all wrapped up. Doesn’t wear it much. Says it’s too nice. Just looks at it sometimes. I guess it’s like those pretty dishes we only use for guests. This two-tone blue Submariner, it’s like that. A special thing, for looking, not for using.
I asked him, why not just get a cheap one? He just laughed. Said it’s not the same. This high imitation Rolex, it’s different. It’s like, I don’t know, like having a good piece of land. It’s worth something. Not just to sell, but to have.
Maybe I’m starting to understand. It’s not just about telling time. It’s about something else. Something more. This two-tone blue Submariner, it’s a story, I guess. A story on your wrist. About where you’ve been, what you’ve done. Or maybe just a story about wanting something nice. And getting it, this original order, whatever that means.
It’s a good story, I think. Even if I don’t know all the words. This shiny blue and gold thing, it makes my grandson happy. And that makes me happy. So, it’s a good watch, this high imitation Rolex. A good watch, indeed.
