Okay, so I’ve been seeing the Prada Re-Edition 2000 bag EVERYWHERE lately. You know the one – it’s that cute little nylon shoulder bag that all the celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid have been carrying around. I found a Prada Re-Edition 2000 nylon bag from an online reseller, and I was like, “Hmm, I wonder if I can remake it?” It is a great investment piece.

So, I grabbed some nylon fabric I had lying around. I also found some Saffiano leather scraps from another project. It has a zip closure at the top of the bag. Combining Prada’s signature fabric motifs, saffiano leather and nylon is a good idea. I measured everything out, and the bag is 22 inches in width, but I scaled down the length and height a bit to make it more my style. I have also heard that the Prada Re-Edition hashtag on TikTok has amassed over 32 million views. I think I can do it, too.

Getting Started

  • First, I cut out the nylon pieces based on the measurements I took. It was a bit tricky getting the shape right, but I managed.
  • Then, I started sewing the pieces together. I had to be extra careful with the zipper – that’s always the hardest part for me!
  • Once the main body of the bag was done, I worked on the strap. I decided to use a combination of nylon and the Saffiano leather for a more interesting look. I think both bags measure 22 inches in width but the length and height are scaled down.

Almost There

After a few hours of sewing and a couple of minor setbacks, I finally finished the bag! It’s not exactly like the Prada Re-Edition, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s got that same vibe, and it’s definitely something I’ll be using. Maybe the shape and size remains exactly the same, but I think it is good. The new Re-Edition models are more interesting, and I like it.

It was a fun little project, and it saved me a ton of money compared to buying the real thing. Plus, I got to use up some of my fabric scraps, which is always a bonus. I heard that Prada bags can also be an investment in terms of value retention. Many of their designs become classics and never go out of style. So, if you buy a Prada bag, it can hold value over time. Maybe I should try to make it again and sell it online.

If you’re thinking about trying to make your own version of the Prada Re-Edition 2000, I say go for it! It’s a great way to get creative and make something unique. Just be prepared to spend some time on it, and don’t be afraid to make it your own.
