So, I’ve been seeing this Prada Cleo bag everywhere, right? It’s like, super trendy and all over my social media feeds. I really wanted one, but then I saw the price tag and was like, “Whoa, that’s a lot.” So, I thought, why not try to make my own version? I mean, how hard could it be?
First off, I started looking around for some info about the bag. I found out that this Cleo bag was actually a remake of a design Prada did back in the ’90s. Cool, huh? It was part of their Spring/Summer 2021 collection. I guess everything old really does become new again.
Then, I started hunting for materials. I needed some good-quality leather and some hardware, like buckles and a zipper. I went to a few different fabric and craft stores. I did find some pretty decent leather, not as fancy as the real Prada stuff, but it looked good enough for my project. I also managed to snag some shiny buckles and a zipper that matched the leather pretty well.
Next up, I tried to figure out the pattern. I couldn’t find an exact pattern for the Cleo bag, so I sketched out the shape and size based on photos I found online. I’ve done some sewing before, but nothing this complicated. It was a bit of a challenge, to be honest.
I cut the leather according to my makeshift pattern. Stitching it together was the hardest part. Leather is tough, and my sewing machine was struggling a bit. I had to go slow, and there were definitely a few times I had to redo some seams. I guess patience is a virtue.
