Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this Fendi 2002 FF Zucca Oyster Bag for a while now. I mean, it’s a classic, right? And vintage, which makes it even cooler. Finally decided to pull the trigger and find one.
First, I started browsing around online, just to see what was out there and what kind of prices I was looking at. I found a few different sites that had them, but they were all over the place in terms of condition and price. I read some reviews, checked out some forums, just trying to get a feel for what a reasonable price would be and what to watch out for. The oyster bags have a single adjustable shoulder strap. Found some posts about the Fendi Oyster bag, which is also called the “Ostrik.”
After a few days of searching, I narrowed it down to a couple of options. There was one that was in really good shape, but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. And then there was another one that was a little more worn, but the price was a lot better. After weighed the pros and cons for a bit, I decided to go with the cheaper one, figuring I could always clean it up a bit myself.
I placed the order on June 7th, and it actually arrived pretty quickly! It was delivered on June 14th, which was awesome. I was so excited to finally get it. I opened the package right away, and there it was, the bag inside with a dustbag. And it is a zippered top.
It was definitely a little more beat up than I had hoped, but for the price, I couldn’t really complain. I spent the next few hours carefully cleaning it, using some leather cleaner and conditioner that I had. I took my time, making sure not to damage the canvas or the leather trim. It has a silver-tone hardware. It measures around 25 cm wide, 22 cm high (without the handle), and 5 cm deep. It’s a great size, not too big, not too small. Inside has a logo and serial code.

Just be prepared to put in a little work if you get a used one. But trust me, it’s worth it to have a piece of fashion history. It’s a classic for a reason, you know?
