Alright, today I’m gonna share with you guys my latest project: remaking a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001, the one you see in their official flagship store. This wasn’t easy, I tell ya, but totally worth it.

First things first, I started by gathering all the info I could find about this watch. You know, specs, materials, the whole shebang. I found out it’s called “Gondolo 7041R, rose gold with a small second hand.” This baby’s got a cushion-shaped case in 18k rose gold, and get this – 108 diamonds around the dial! About 0.31 carats, I read somewhere. Fancy, right?

  • So, I began by sketching out the design. I wanted to get the shape and the size just right. This Gondolo model’s got a rectangular case, which is pretty unique. I measured and remeasured, making sure my dimensions matched the original 30 x 33.8 mm.
  • Next up, the materials. I managed to source some 18k rose gold, which was a real win. Had to get that warm, luxurious tone. For the diamonds, I found some good quality ones, although matching the exact size and clarity was tough. But hey, close enough!
  • Then came the fun part – putting it all together. I carefully shaped the case, paying close attention to those curves. This watch has a silver-toned dial with gold-tone leaf-style hands, so I replicated that as best as I could. Roman numerals, too. Can’t forget those!
  • The diamond setting was probably the most nerve-wracking part. I carefully placed each tiny diamond around the dial. I saw that it’s also listed for around $29,774. Took me forever, but man, it looked good when I was done.

Finally, I added a brown alligator band, just like the original. That really completed the look, if you ask me.

The whole process took me a good chunk of time, but seeing the finished product, it was all worth it. It’s not a perfect replica, of course. There’s something special about the original Patek Philippe craftsmanship. But I’m pretty darn proud of how mine turned out.

What do you guys think?

It’s not every day you get to remake something as iconic as a Patek Philippe watch. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this project. And hey, if you’ve got any similar projects you’ve tackled, share them below! Let’s get a conversation going.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little journey of mine. Stay tuned for more crazy projects!
