So, I got this idea to make a copy of the Fendi Oyster bag. I saw it online, and I thought, “Hey, I can do that!” I’m not a pro or anything, just someone who likes to try making stuff, you know?
Getting Started
First, I looked up a bunch of pictures of the Fendi Oyster bag online. I needed to see it from all angles, close-ups, everything. Then, I tried to find similar materials. The original is made of some fancy leather, but I just went to my local craft store and picked up some faux leather that looked kind of the same. I also grabbed some fabric for the lining, a zipper, and some other bits and pieces.
The Process
I started by sketching out the shape of the bag on paper. I’m no artist, but I managed to get a basic outline. Then, I cut out the faux leather using my sketch as a guide. It was a bit tricky, especially the curved parts. I had to redo a few pieces because I messed up the first time.
Next, I sewed the pieces together. I have a sewing machine, but it’s pretty old, so it gave me a bit of a hard time. I broke a few needles, had to redo some seams, but eventually, I got it all stitched up. I even managed to add the lining, which was surprisingly easier than I expected.
The trickiest part was the details. The real Fendi Oyster bag has all these fancy flourishes and a special kind of zipper. I tried to replicate the look using some metal charms and a regular zipper. It’s not perfect, but I think it looks pretty good for a homemade version.
The Result
After a lot of trial and error, I finally finished my Fendi Oyster bag copy. It’s definitely not as polished as the real thing, but I’m pretty proud of it. I even used it a couple of times when I went out, and no one noticed it was a fake!

- Faux leather
- Fabric for lining

It was a fun project, and I learned a lot about bag making. Maybe I’ll try to make another designer bag copy in the future. Who knows? But for now, I’m happy with my homemade Fendi Oyster.
