I always wanted a OMEGA Speedmaster, you know, the “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary edition. I finally decided to just do it.
So, I started looking around. And let me tell you, it’s not easy to find. I searched everywhere online, looked into all sorts of places, but no luck. This thing is popular! The “Silver Snoopy Award” is really sought after, especially since its release in 2020, it is just crazy.
Then, I had an idea. I went for the original order. Yep, I went straight to the source. It took some time and a whole lot of patience, but I finally got my hands on it. They launched it on October 5th, so I was pretty pumped to be one of the first to get it since then.
- First, I placed the order. It wasn’t easy, but I was determined.
- Then came the waiting. Oh boy, the waiting was tough!
- Finally, the day came when it arrived. The feeling was awesome!
Unboxing This Beauty
When I opened the box, it was like a dream. The watch is just beautiful. It has a silver dial with blue accents on the sub-dials, it is so pretty. And the best part? It’s the 50th Anniversary version, which makes it even more special. I mean, it’s a big deal to celebrate half a century of the Silver Snoopy Award. And the non-limited watch is driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, so it’s super accurate and resistant to magnetic fields. Did you know Snoopy has been NASA’s safety watchdog since the 1960s? That’s so cool! And this “Silver Snoopy Award” is like the biggest thank you for mission success. I learned that the 50th Anniversary version is different, there are earlier limited editions too, like one with 5441 pieces for the length of the ill-fated mission, and another with 1970 pieces for the year of the award. This is so sick!
Getting this watch was a journey, but it was so worth it. Now, every time I look at my wrist, I’m reminded of the whole adventure. Plus, it’s a piece of history, and that’s pretty amazing. I’m definitely never letting this one go!
