Alright, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster, the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” edition, for a while now. The model number is 310.92.44.50.01.001. It’s got that classic Speedmaster look, but with a twist that really caught my eye. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get my hands on one.
First off, I started my hunt. I wanted to make sure I was getting a good deal and, more importantly, an authentic piece. I did a bunch of digging around, comparing prices and checking out different sellers.
Once I found a seller I trusted, I placed my order. The waiting was the hardest part, let me tell you! I was constantly tracking the shipment, eager to see this beauty in person.
Finally, the day came. The package arrived, and I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. And there it was, the OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, in all its glory. The watch is pretty big, with a 44.25 mm case, and it’s about 13 mm thick. It felt substantial, but not too heavy, which is perfect. It’s made of black ceramic, which looks super sleek. The band is 21 mm wide, which is a good size, and it has a fold-over clasp that feels secure.
I started playing around with it, setting the time and testing out the chronograph functions. Everything worked smoothly. It’s also water-resistant up to 50 meters, which is a nice bonus, although I don’t plan on swimming with it anytime soon!
I’ve been wearing it for a few days now, and I’ve got to say, I’m really happy with it. It’s got that cool, skeletonized dial where you can see the inner workings of the watch and it is very nice. I have to get a new leather strap for it. It’s a conversation starter for sure.
So, that’s my little adventure with the OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8. If you’re into watches, especially the classic styles with a modern edge, this one’s definitely worth checking out. It is a very good watch!
