Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to remake the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag for a while now, and I finally did it! This bag is such a classic, and I’ve always admired its simple yet elegant design. I knew I had to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did.
First, I started by gathering all the materials. I managed to find a really nice piece of Saffiano leather. It’s got that distinctive crosshatch pattern and is pretty durable, which is a huge plus. I spent hours looking for the right texture and color, I wanted it to be as close to the original as possible.
Then, I carefully studied the design of the Galleria. I looked at tons of pictures online and even went to a store to see the real deal up close. I took notes on every little detail, the stitching, the hardware, everything.

The trickiest part was getting the structure right. The Galleria has a very specific boxy shape, and I had to make sure my version held its form. I ended up using some interfacing to give it more structure and help it stand up on its own. The stitching took forever, but it was so worth it to see the bag coming together.
The interior of the bag is lined with a smooth fabric, just like the original. I even added a few pockets inside for organization. You know, a place for your phone, keys, and other essentials. It’s all about the little details, right?
Finally, I attached the hardware. I found some really good quality metal pieces that matched the original Prada bag. The logo, the zippers, the little feet on the bottom—I made sure everything was in its right place.
The Final Product!
After hours of work, my homemade Prada Galleria was complete! I have to say, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It’s not a perfect replica, but it definitely captures the essence of the original. It’s got that classic style, the durable Saffiano leather, and all the functional details that make it a great everyday bag. I can’t wait to start using it!
