Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this Patek Philippe Nautilus 7021/1, but man, those things are expensive. You know, like, crazy expensive. But I really, really wanted one, so I started looking into getting a remake, like, the best quality one you can get. It is a really classic watch and I want to try it.
First, I did a bunch of digging around online. I mean, I was on forums, reading reviews, the whole nine yards. I wanted to find out which remakes were actually worth it and which ones were just junk. I saw some chatter about the Nautilus and the Aquanaut – apparently, those are super popular models to remake. Also, I found out that getting a watch with all the original paperwork and the box is a big deal. It’s like, it makes it feel more legit, you know?
Then, I started contacting some sellers. Most of them, let me tell you, were pretty sketchy. They’d promise you the moon, but you just knew it wasn’t going to be good. But then I found this one guy, and he seemed different. He knew a lot about the watches, sent me a ton of pictures, and even hopped on a video call to show me the watch in detail. That’s when I started to feel a bit more confident. I finally choose the Nautilus ref. 5711, the original one I really like.
Here’s what I did:
- Research: Spent hours reading up on remakes and which factories were the best.
- Contacting Sellers: Talked to a bunch of sellers, most of them were a no-go.
- Finding the Right One: Finally found a seller who seemed legit and knowledgeable.
- Verification: Asked for tons of pictures and a video call to see the watch up close.
After I felt good about the seller, I went ahead and ordered the watch. It took a few weeks to arrive, and I was nervous the whole time. But when it finally got here, man, it was worth it. This thing is beautiful. It’s got all the details right, the weight feels good, and it even came with the box and papers.
Now, I’m not saying it’s exactly like the real thing. It’s a remake, after all. But for the price, it’s incredible. I can wear it out, and no one’s going to know the difference unless they’re some kind of watch expert with a magnifying glass. I can totally enjoy the classic style of Nautilus 7021/1 now.
So yeah, that’s my story of getting a remake Patek Philippe Nautilus. It was a bit of a process, but I’m super happy with how it turned out. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, just make sure you do your research and find a good seller. It’s definitely possible to get a great remake without spending a fortune, trust me.
