Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Richard Mille watch for a while now. They’re like the holy grail of watches, right? Super expensive, super exclusive, and just plain cool. But, man, those prices are insane! I decided to focus on the RM 011 model ’cause I saw it mentioned as one of the “cheaper” options, which is kind of funny when you’re talking about Richard Mille. It’s also known as the “Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph,” which sounds pretty badass.
First things first, I started with a general search to see what I was really getting into. I found a few articles listing the “top 5 cheapest” Richard Mille models. They’ve got names like the RM 010, RM 029, RM 030, and yeah, the RM 011 was on there. There was also this RM 035, but I wasn’t too interested in that one at the time.
Then, I hit up this site called * – seemed like a good place to browse luxury watches. They had a bunch of RM 011 listings, both new and used. Browsing their site, you can see all kinds of fancy watches, it’s pretty addicting. The RM 011 had different variations, like one called “Midnight Fire”.
Next, I looked for details on what makes these watches so special. Found some stuff about them being “technical masterpieces” with “high functionality.” I also found a description saying the RM 011 is a “stunning and truly iconic model” that “stands out” from the other Richard Mille watches. It also said something about coming with the “original Richard Mille presentation box and papers (warranty papers).” Fancy!
Now, the price. Oh boy. The cheapest RM 011 I could find was listed at $155,000! The seller bragged about having 500 positive reviews since 1999. One of them was even listed as “price on request.” Can you imagine? “Price on request” for a watch! I have to contact them for a quote. I’m too scared to even do that. I mean, I knew these were expensive, but this is a whole other level.
Here’s what I learned during my initial investigation:
- Richard Mille watches are EXPENSIVE. Even the “cheaper” ones are still way out of my league.
- The RM 011 is a popular model. It’s got a cool name (Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph) and seems to be one of the more “affordable” options.
- There are different versions of the RM 011. Some are more expensive than others.
- Buying one of these is a big deal. There’s a whole process, and it seems like it’s more than just clicking “buy now” on a website.
My plan moving forward:
I’m still super interested in the RM 011. I think it’s a really cool watch, and I’d love to own one someday. But for now, I think I need to do a lot more research and, you know, maybe win the lottery or something. I’m going to keep looking into the different versions of the RM 011, try to understand the pricing better, and maybe even see if there’s a way to get a closer look at one in person. It’s a long shot, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
