Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a decent watch, and the CopyOMEGA Ω Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 45.5mm caught my eye. It’s a mouthful, I know, but this thing looked pretty sweet online. I decided to start digging to see if it was worth the hype.
First, I started hitting up some forums, like the Omega Forums. I saw a bunch of folks talking about the older versions vs. the Master Chronometer. Seems like they changed up some parts on the inside, like the main plate and rotor and stuff. Makes sense, newer model, newer parts, right? There was this one thread comparing the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial in titanium and stainless steel. That got me thinking about what material I’d prefer, but I wasn’t too hung up on that.
Then I found out that this watch is water-resistant up to 600 meters. 600 meters! That’s insane! I mean, I’m not planning on diving that deep anytime soon, but it’s cool to know it can handle it.
Diving Deeper into the Specs
Next, I started looking at the movement. This thing’s got the Omega Master Co-Axial caliber 9900, which, from what I gathered, is a pretty big deal. It beats at some crazy rate, 25,200 vibrations per hour, has 54 jewels, and a power reserve of 60 hours. I don’t even know what half of that stuff really means, but it sounded impressive. Like, this thing is seriously engineered.
I also learned that this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster has a 45.5 mm case. That’s a pretty big watch. I tried measuring my wrist with a string and a ruler, just to get an idea. It seemed like it would fit okay, but I’d definitely need to try one on. And some of them are made with something called 18K Sedna Gold. It looked super classy and the gold got my attention.
But let’s be real, the price tag was a bit of a shocker. I saw listings for around $6,589. Ouch. That’s a serious chunk of change. I mean, I knew it wouldn’t be cheap, but that’s like, a used car territory. But there are some other versions which are made with steel that are cheaper than gold version.
The Hunt Begins
After all that research, I was pretty much sold. This CopyOMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer, it’s like a piece of history, a dive watch heritage thing. I started looking around for original order ones, but it is a difficult way. This whole watch thing is more complicated than I thought!
Finally, I found the original order CopyOMEGA. I decide to buy it and it got a whole bunch of numbers and lines, and it is so cool.
