Want a Remake PRADA Logo Tote Bag? Get the Classic Style Look!

Alright, so I’ve been seeing this Prada Re-Nylon Re-edition 2000 bag everywhere. It’s like the “it” bag of the moment, you know? Lyst even called it the bag of the year in 2022! I mean, they found that searches for it went up like crazy, 131% or something, in just one summer. That’s wild. People are really into that ’90s vibe again. I get it, though. It’s a classic style, but still feels kinda fresh.

Then I started thinking about other bags, like the Coach Brooklyn shoulder bag, and even The Row’s Park Tote. They are all so stylish in their own way. But they’re all pretty pricey. And honestly, I’m not really into dropping a ton of cash on a bag, even if it is Prada. No matter how you look at it, totes are made to be tough, you know? They gotta handle all the stuff we carry around every day and still look good.

I compared LV with Prada, and I found that LV is usually a bit more expensive. It does not matter if you’re looking at leather jackets, travel bags, totes, or high heels – LV just costs a little more. So I thought, “Why not try to remake it myself?” I’ve got some old materials lying around, and I’m pretty handy with a needle and thread. Plus, there are tons of tutorials online about making your own bags. I figured, even if it’s not perfect, it’ll be fun, and I might end up with something cool.

So, I started by sketching out the basic shape. It’s a pretty simple design, thankfully. Just a rectangular tote with the Prada logo on the front. Then I gathered my materials. I had some sturdy black fabric, some leftover nylon from another project, and some old zippers I salvaged. I even found a metal triangle piece that kinda looks like the Prada logo, in an old box of trinkets.

Cutting the fabric was the first big step. I measured everything twice, just to make sure. Then I started sewing. Let me tell you, it was trickier than I expected! Getting the seams straight and even was a real challenge. But I kept at it, seam by seam. I looked at a picture of the Prada bag, and it helped me a lot to place the details.

The hardest part was probably attaching the zipper. I messed it up a couple of times and had to rip it out and start over. But eventually, I got it right. Then came the straps. I wanted them to be strong, so I used a double layer of fabric. It’s a bit rough, but it does the job.

The Result

  • The finished bag isn’t exactly like the real Prada one, of course. It’s a little rough around the edges, and the stitching isn’t perfect.
  • But you know what? I’m actually really proud of it. I learned how much work goes into making a bag.
  • It’s got that slouchy, ’90s vibe, and it’s definitely unique. Nobody else has a bag quite like it!
  • Plus, I saved a ton of money. And I had a lot of fun doing it.

So, yeah, that’s my Prada tote bag remake story. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine. Maybe I’ll try making another one sometime, maybe a different style. Who knows? It’s all about the journey, right?
